Renowned entrepreneur Marissa Carter has carved a unique path in the global beauty industry as the trailblazing founder and CEO of two successful brands, Cocoa Brown Tan and Carter Beauty Cosmetics. Her leadership and creativity have garnered her significant recognition and numerous awards, among them, Image Magazine's Businesswoman of the Year and a spot on the Women’s Executive Network (WXN) Top 25 Most Powerful Women in Ireland list in 2017. Further testament to her impact, Marissareceived both the University College Dublin James Joyce Award and the Trinity College Praeses Elit Award in 2020 for her outstanding contribution to female entrepreneurship in Ireland. 

Passionate about sharing her knowledge and expertise, Marissa is a lead entrepreneur with the Going for Growth community, an initiative championing female entrepreneurship in Ireland. Utilising her founder's experience and business nous, Marissa empowers other aspiring women entrepreneurs, guiding them towards their business goals. In-demand as a speaker, she has shared insights on entrepreneurship and business at events around the world. Notable keynote speaking engagements have included the IMAGE Business Summit, the Women in Business Network, and the Plan International Ireland Ball.  

Marissa remains committed to giving back and is involved in a number of charitable causes. She is a proud ambassador for Plan International Ireland and has donated more than €250,000 euros worth of beauty products to Look Good, Feel Better, an initiative which supports people undergoing cancer treatment. A passionate Gaeilgeoir, Marissa participated in a 2022 Foras na Gaeilge initiative aimed at re-engaging people with the Irish language, which included an appearance and contributor makeover on RTÉ One's Today Show conducted 'as Gaeilge'. She is a regular contributor to both radio and television.

In the quieter moments between managing her businesses, this native Dubliner indulges her twin passions for gardening and interior design and showcases tips and tricks on social media where she encourages her extensive followership to get creative and enjoy the outdoors.
