Tony Clayton-Lea is an award-winning arts critic, journalist, broadcaster and author who writes on pop culture, music, film, food and travel. He contributes regularly to The Irish Times, Business Post, Irish Independent, and thetaste.ie. Prior to its cessation in 2020 (due to Covid-19), Tony regularly contributed to Cara, the in-flight magazine of Aer Lingus, in which he interviewed numerous actors and musicians (including Cate Blanchett, Glenn Close, Colin Farrell, Hozier, Cillian Murphy, Saoirse Ronan, Glen Hansard, Jeremy Irons, Anjelica Huston, Gabriel Byrne, Domhnaill Gleeson, Ruth Negga, and Aidan Gillen).

Tony contributes frequently to national and international radio, including RTÉ and the BBC, and regularly conducts public interviews (face-to-face and online) with musicians, actors, and authors at national and international arts, music and literary festivals. These include Guinness Cork Jazz Festival, Galway International Arts Festival, Cuirt Literary Festival, Electric Picnic, and Capital Irish Film Festival. He also hosts, moderates, and chairs panel discussions and interviews at various events, festivals, album/book launches, seminars and conferences.

Tony is the author of six non-fiction, music-related books, the most recent (2011) of which is 101 Irish Records You Must Hear Before You Die.
